Kissinger, Margaret (6 MAY 1846 - 27 JUL 1940)

Final rites for Margaret Kissinger were conducted Tuesday afternoon, July 30, at two o’clock, from the Griebenow Funeral Parlors with the Rev. J.H. Rostad officiating at the service. Interment was made in the family lot at Spencer, Wis.

Margaret Kissinger passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Emma Wegner of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) on Saturday, July 27, 1940, at the age of 94 years, 2 months and 21 days.

When but nine months old, Margaret Kissinger and her parents came to the United States from the old country and settled at Plymouth, Wis. where they made their home for a number of years.

In 1866 she exchanged the vows of marriage with her husband, Phillip, and to this union were born a family of ten children, five sons and five daughters.

Mrs. Kissinger, who was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip, and three daughters and three sons, ahs found a great deal of happiness and enjoyment in life during her many years upon this earth. At times when sorrow and sickness would dampen the brightness and happiness of the family, she was a true mother in that she had the power to partially overcome her emotions enough to help brighten up the spirits of those near and dear to her.

Her passing is mourned by two daughters, Mrs. Emma Wegner of Owen, with whom she had made her home for the last eight years, and Mrs. Mary Proctor, also of Owen; two sons, Phillip of Loyal and John of Owen, and 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, besides many other relatives and a host of dear friends.
