Hansen, Anne C. (1858? - 24 NOV 1939)

Mrs. H.C. Hansen of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) passed away at her home Friday after having been ill for more than a month. The aged lady was 81 years old and leaves a husband, besides children, grandchildren, one brother and several sisters to mourn.

The deceased was born at Fyn, Denmark, and came to the United States about 52 years ago. She was an active Danish Lutheran Church member all of her life and had been at one time for several years a matron of the Danish Lutheran orphanage in Chicago.

Mrs. Hansen had resided in Chicago, Ill., Tyler, Minn., Junction City, Ore, and Withee, Wis. She at one time operated the Askov Hotel at Askov, Minn.

On Aug. 18, this year, she and her husband celebrated their silver wedding anniversary, at which many friends and relatives gathered.

Mrs. Hansen is survived by her husband, one son, Christian of Askov, Minn.; and four step-children, V.A. Hansen and H.P. Hansen of Withee, and W.C. Hansen of Stoughton, and Emma, residing in Kentucky, besides several sisters and brothers, Rasmus Christensen and Fru Frederick Gerglohdt (Christine), both residing in Denmark; Mrs. Christensen (Hannah) of Ferndale, Calif., Mrs. Karen Anderson of Chicago, Ill., and Mrs. T.D. Alexander (Caroline) of Parshall, Colo.

Funeral services were held at Withee Monday from the home at 1:30 and from the church at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. M. Mikkelsen of Askov, officiating. Pallbearers were Christian, H.P., V.A., W.C. and Emil Hansen, and Nels Stockholm.

Relatives who attended were Mr. and Mrs. Christian Hansen, Ruth and Carl of Askov, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Hansen of Stoughton, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Hansen of Minneapolis, Mrs. Hugh Gwin and Mrs. Cora Cannon of Loyal; also relatives of Withee, Wis.

Friends of the family in this community join in extension of sympathy.
