Mrs. Alfred Thompson will be the hostess to the Helping Hand Society on Friday, Oct. 31st.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Klessig and family were Thursday evening callers at the Christ Klessig home.

Miss Anna B. Hanson of Wausau, Wis., spent the week-end with her sister and brother in law, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Machlett.

Rev. and Mrs. G. E. Borreson and family drove to Whitehall on Saunday afternoon where Rev. Borreson was a speaker at the 75th anniversary of the Lutheran church.

Mrs. Arthur Thompson took the Midway 4-H club girls to Loyal on Saturday.

Mrs. John Podgorski and mother, Mrs. Christianson, who spent the summer at the latter’s farm in Green Grove, returned to their home in Winnetka last week. Mr. Podgorski motored up for them.

Mrs. F. W. Laabs suffered a stroke at her home on Friday morning and on Saturday was taken to St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield, for medical treatment.

Mrs. Roy Peterson of Abbotsford visited with Mrs. Leland Smiley on Tuesday afternoon.

Mrs. Walter Nicks, who has been a patient at St. Joseph’s hospital for over two months following a serious burn, returned on Monday to the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Burtard.

Mr. and Mrs. Michael Novak and Kathryn Peterson of Chicago spent the week-end with the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Peterson.

Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Matthias and son of Richters Lake were visitors at the Frank Matthias home on last Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Martin Ulssen and son of Glidden visited the latter’s mother, Mrs. Frank Tonn, Sr., on Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Kobs and sons of Granton and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Mandel and daughters of Colby were Sunday visitors at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Christ Klessig, on Sunday.

Ethel Erickson, Mabel Greg, Elizabeth Callahan and Charlotte Sands of Eau Claire spent the week-end with the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Erickson.

Walter Stacke is enjoying a ten day furlough from a Tennessee training camp with his mother, Mrs. A. Stacke.

Misses Clara, Alma and Esther Thompson and Mrs. Frank Matthias were Marshfield visitors Saturday.
