Sommer, Ruth (10 JUN 1939)

At a beautiful double ring ceremony amid the strains of the bridal march from Lohengrin, Miss Ruth Sommer was wedded to Elmer Schuette in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Green Grove (Clark Co., Wis.), by Rev. M.C. Goetsch at 2:30 Saturday afternoon of last week.

The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theo Sommer of Curtiss, was beautifully gowned in a dress of white lace over satin with a long train in princess lines with tiny buttons down the front and wore a finger tip veil, a crown of seed pearls edged the veil in wide lace. She carried a bouquet of roses and sweet peas. Her maid of honor, Miss Eileen Sommer, wore a dress of peach taffeta with a face veil to match with a crown of lowers with white accessories to match.

The groom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Schuette of Greenwood (Clark Co.), is a tavern operator at Riplinger where the newlyweds will make their future home. He was attended by his friend Harley Hardrath. Other attendants were Sylvia Schuette and Wesley Schwarze of Greenwood. Miss Schuette wore a gown of blue taffeta with face veil to match with a crown of blue flowers with silver accessories.

Those present at the church wedding were immediate friends and relatives of the couple, Mr. and Mrs. Otmer Schuette of La Crosse, Mr. and Mrs. William Sommer and Mr. and Mrs. Sylvan Sommer of Neenah.

During the ceremony the choir sang "O Perfect Love." Miss Adeline Goetsch sang a solo, "I Love Your Truly."

After the service a five o’clock wedding supper was served to guests of the couple. The home was decorated in peach and blue and white streamers with a large wedding cake being the center of attraction. In the evening a wedding dance was given by the newlyweds at the Atwood hall. At midnight a lunch was served to all friends.

In the near future the couple plan to take a wedding trip, but at the present they are making their home at Riplinger.
