Schultz, Esther (Marriage - 20 Aug. 1940)

Miss Esther Schultz, daughter of Mrs. Louise Schultz of Colby, Wisconsin, and Mr. Theodore Ketterl, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Ketterl of Butternut, were united in marriage at the home of the bride’s mother on Tuesday, August 20th, at 2:00 P.M., which was also the bride’s birthday anniversary. The marriage ceremony was read by Rev. O. Hoffmann and the couple was attended by Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Markus, the bride’s brother in law and sister.

The bride was attired in a street dress of Indian earth crepe with brown accessories. Her shoulder corsage consisted of Talisman roses and chrysanthemums. Mrs. Markus wore a street dress of soldier blue crepe with blue accessories and her shoulder corsage was similar to the bride’s.

A reception was held at the home of Mrs. Louise Schultz for the immediate relatives, the home being decorated with cut flowers for the occasion. In the evening, a wedding dance was given at Wiedenhoeft’s pavilion.

The couple will be at home at Dorchester the latter part of August where the groom teaches science and mathematics at high school.

Both the bride and the groom graduated from Central State Teachers’ College at Stevens Point. The groom is a member of the Chi Delta Pho fraternity. The bride taught the fifth and sixth grades at the Colby graded school.

Out of town relatives here for the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Ketterl, Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Ketterl, Jr., of Butternut, Mr. and Mrs. August Straus of Adams, Wis., and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Gruber of Park Falls, Wis.
