Schuette, Mr./Mrs. Henry (51st Anniv. - 19 Mar. 1940)

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schuette, residents of Clark county for over 30 years, observed their 51st wedding anniversary Tuesday.

Mr. Schuette was 75 years old on October 20th, and was born in the town of Kussuth, Manitowoc county. Mrs. Schuette was born in Berlin, Germany, and was 74 years old September 3rd. The family came to the United States when she was two years old and after living four months in Chicago they moved to Manitowoc county.

The couple was married in the town of Franklin, Manitowoc county, March 19th, 1889, and lived in the towns of Kussuth and Manitowoc Rapids for 21 years prior to coming to Clark county to engage in farming. They are still on the same farm at Unity, route 1, which now is being worked by their son, Henry, Jr.

Mr. and Mrs. Schuette are the parents of eight children. Those living are Arthur Schuette, Colby; Walter Schuette, Marshfield; Edwin Schuette, Sheldon, Rusk county and Henry and Hugo, Unity, Rt. 1. A son, Richard, died in 1938 in Braddock, N.D., and Reinhard and Olga died in infancy. There are 23 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Mr. Schuette has three brothers, Otto, William and Herman, and a sister, Mrs. William Fehring, all living at Manitowoc. Mrs. Schuette has a brother, William Regling, Antigo, and a sister, Mrs. Herman Goetsch, living at Fond du Lac.

Mr. and Mrs. Schuette are members of the South Green Grove Lutheran Church.
