Herman, Rosemary (11 JUN 1939)

A very pretty wedding took place at the John Herman home at Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), early Sunday afternoon, June 11, 1939, when Rosemary Herman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Herman, became the bride of Ervine Hodd, son of Mrs. Elizabeth Hodd.

The ceremony was performed by Rev. Irish of Thorp.

The bride was beautifully attired in a floor length orchid moiré taffeta with a three-quarter length veil with a crown of orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of peonies and roses.

Miss Ethel Hood, her attendant, wore a floor length dress of medium blue net.

Miss Marjorie Martenson, honorary ring bearer was dresses in a gown of orchid and white. Floyd Hood, brother of the groom, was best man for the occasion, wore a suit of oxford gray.

The groom wore a navy blue suit.

The Bower was appropriately and beautifully decorated in colors, orchid and white, and was banked with flowers and ferns. The couple marched to the strains of the bridal chorus from Lohengrin, played by Miss Beatrice Brett.

After the ceremony a wedding dinner was served to forty friends and relatives of the young couple. The centerpiece of the dinner table was a beautiful wedding cake. The table decorations were orchid and white.

Following the dinner the young couple left for a short honeymoon trip which they enjoyed at Lake Wissota.

Guests who attended the wedding were Mrs. Elizabeth Hodd and family, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hodd and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Bogue, Mrs. Ed Merten and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Menteges and Etta Martinson and family of Withee; Mr. and Mrs. Brett and family and Miss Helen Emmel of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Milton Bombard and family and Mrs. Emma McVean of Loyal; Lucille and Harris Johnson of Owen, Lloyd Stair of Stanley, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Moss of Freeport, Ill., Rev. and Mrs. Irish of Thorp.

Unlimited happiness is wished them by their many friends.

The bride was a graduate of the Withee High School in 1939.
