Vanderloop, Henry (25 APR 1868 - 18 MAR 1939)

Henry Vanderloop, beloved and respected pioneer, kind neighbor, faithful friend and an exemplary citizen, passed away very suddenly at his home on Saturday evening, March 18, 1939, of heart trouble. He was born April 25, 1868 in Calumet County, where he grew to manhood.

He was married to Miss Mary Huls Oct. 4, 1892, at Holland, Wis. They made their home at Holland for a few years and in 1898 they came to Stanley country, where they have since made their home on a farm. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Vanderloop and ten children. They are: Cora (Mrs. Peter Henke) of Stanley; Elizabeth (Mrs. Henry Hoks) Menasha; Minnie (Mrs. John Capaul), Cornell; Mathilda (Mrs. Ray Brown), Agnes, (Mrs. Arthur Jacque), of Thorp; Henrietta (Mrs. Herbert Bosseler), of Port Washington; Rose (Mrs. Henry Frese Jr.), of Thorp; Wilfred and Raymond Vanderloop of Port Washington, and Sylvester of this city. He is also survived by two sisters and one brother: Mrs. Herman Brochtrup and Mrs. Joe Rolfe of Forest Junction, and Arnold Vanderloop of Little Chute. There are twenty-six grandchildren.

The funeral services were held on Tuesday morning at 9:30 o’clock at St. Ann’s Church with rev. P. Pitzenberger officiating. The pallbearers were, Balzer Capaul Sr., Henry Driessen, C.A. Ebben, Paul Haase, John Bohman and Hebert May.

Out of town people at the funeral were: Mrs. Aledi Emmers, Mrs. Catherine Sigl, George, Mark and Lorraine Emmers, William Vanderloop, Appleton; Mr. and Mrs. John Gerrits, Kaukauna; Mr. and Mrs. Van Den Eng, Mr. and Mrs. George Kaster, Seymour; Mr. and Mrs. John Weyers, Cyril Vanderloop, Kerman; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Huls, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Huls, John S. Bogumill, Mrs. John Huls and Mrs. Lawrence Van Loo of Thorp.
