Olson, Dorothy (Marriage - 27 Sept. 1939)

Wearing the wedding veil worn by her mother 35 years ago, Miss Dorothy Olson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Olson of Colby, Wisconsin, exchanged marriage vows with Benedict Fitzel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Wucherpfenning of Colby, at a ceremony performed Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 27, in Zion Lutheran church in Colby, Rev. O. Hoffmann reading the service at 4:00 o"clock. The same wedding veil had been worn by the bride’s sister, Mrs. Elmer Schmidt of Marshfield, at her wedding nine years ago. A gown of white taffeta with long train and full skirt was worn by the bride. Her bouquet consisted of lilies and pompoms.

Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Schmidt of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Byron Olson and Miss Yost of Colby and Wayne Olson of Curtiss attended the couple. Mrs. Schmidt wore a dress of yellow net with matching face veil and headband; Mrs. Olson, sister in law of the bride, wore a dress of aqua net with matching face veil and head band and Miss Helen Yost wore a dress of light blue net with matching face veil and head band. All three wore corsages of pompoms. Flowers decorated the church.

Seventy-five guests were entertained at a reception and supper at the home of the bride’s parents, the home being nicely decorated with fall flowers and streamers of white, yellow, aqua and light blue. In the evening, a dance was held at Cherokee hall. The newlyweds are residing in the town of Frankfort.

Van Gordon, Mrs. Harold Van Gordon and Mrs. Mahlon Nordahl of Alma Center, Mrs. Louise Fisher of Black River Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Tuttle of Marshfield, Mr. Ludwig Johnson and granddaughter of Superior, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Olaf Olson and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Holt of Neillsville, Mr. and Mrs. Ewald Swartze of Greenwood, Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Van Rooy of Abbotsford, Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln Tuttle of Madison, Mr. Frank Tuttle of Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. Reinhold Wucherpfenning and family of Colby, Miss Lola Sucency of Marathon, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Voelker of Abbotsford, Miss Rose Wucherpfenning, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Olson and family, Mr. and Mrs. Adam Fitzel, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Klumpyan, Mr. and Mrs. Arland Stall, and Mrs. Carl Reyer and Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Wucherpfenning all of Colby.
