Lee, Anna Louise (11 Nov. 1881 - 8 Aug. 1942)

Mrs. Anna Louise Lee, wife of Vinton Lee, died suddenly at 8:00 p.m. Saturday, August 8, of a heart attack, at her home at Pleasant Ridge. Mrs. Lee had been in poor health for several years but was up and about the house until a few hours before her death.

The departed was born Anna Louise Grade to Fred and Ida (Fiddler) Grade in the Town of Lynn, Nov. 11, 1881. She was the eldest of nine children, five of whom survive. She was married to Vinton D. Lee on May four, 1910, at the Methodist parsonage, Marshfield, by the Rev. Postlewaight. For four years after their marriage, she and her husband, who is a cheese maker, lived at the Pleasant Ridge creamery. They then were employed at Oconto Falls, Neillsville and Withee, returning to Pleasant Ridge creamery in 1919, where they lived for 23 years, the balance of her lifetime.

She is a member of the Pleasant Ridge Methodist church, the Ladies Aid Society and the social club of her home community, Mrs. Lee lived an ideal life in every way. She was a splendid homemaker and helpmate. She stood firmly for the principles by which she guided her own life and sought to make that influence felt in each community in which she had lived.

Surviving to mourn her loss are her husband, Vinton D. Lee, her aged mother, Mrs. Ida Grade, Owen, two brothers, William, Janesville, and Louis, Granton. Three sisters; Bertha, Mrs. William Erickson, Earl, Wis.; Mrs. Emma Payne, Granton; and Louise Grade, Seattle, Wash. She also leaves 28 nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted today (Thursday) by the Rev. Obed Asp at the Jaster Funeral Home at 1:30, followed by the service at the Neillsville Methodist Church at 2:00. Interment will be made in the Windfall Cemetery.
