Deiler, Catherine A. (7 MAY 1917 - 3 SEP 2007)

Catherine A, "Kit" Deiler, 90, Marshfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, Sept. 3, 2007, in Wells Nature View on Apple Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, Sept. 7, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Hewitt. The Rev. Eric G. Linzmaier officiated. Gladys Martin was the organist, along with St. Michael’s Funeral Choir. Burial was in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Halder. Serving as pallbearers were her nephews, Tom Stiefvater, Bob Suda, Steve Brey, Dan Kitzhaber, and Gordy and Andy Cornwell.

Catherine Kitzhaber was born on May 7, 1917, in Ryan, Iowa, to Lawrence and Mabel (nee McDowell,) Kitzhaber. In 1921, she moved to Greenwood with her parents and attended Greenwood schools. She married Richard M. Deiler on Oct. 24, 1949, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Greenwood. He died on Nov. 15, 2003. They made their home in Chicago for 20 years where she worked at Bodine Electric. In 1929, they moved to Marshfield, residing at 7605 Country Road Y for the next 33 years. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, where she was an active member of the Parish Council of Catholic Women and Lady Knights of Columbus. She also enjoyed Playing cards, fishing, gardening and bowling.

Survivors include two brothers, Raymond (Mary Ellen) Kitzhaber, Mosinee, and Bernard (Pat) Kitzhaber, Greenwood; four sisters, Dolores (Cal) Cornwell, St. Paul, Minn., Lorraine (Mike) Klapatauskas, Marshfield, Peg (Wally) Brey, Neillsville, and JoAnn (Jim) Suda, Gurnee, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Kitzhaber, Greenwood; a brother-in-law, Albert Deiler, Schofield; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Dick; two sisters, Loretta Verhalen and Geneva Rogillio; and two brothers, Elmer and Ronald Kitzhaber.
