In a candlelight service at 4:30 p.m. Monday in Tunkhannock, Pa., Miss Elizabeth Kessler, who made her home for several years with her uncle and aunt, Dr. and Mrs. J. Gurney Taylor, E. Glen Ave., Milwaukee, was married to Charles Edward Nelson of Cincinnati, Ohio, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Nelson of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.). The wedding took place at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Breed Hawes.
The bride wore a gown of delphinium blue crepe with a lame jacket. She carried a bouquet of sweetheart roses and lilies of the valley. Attending her as matron of honor was Mrs. John Christian, who wore a gown of dubonnet crepe and carried Talisman roses. Following the ceremony a reception was held and in the evening a dinner was served for the wedding party.
Mr. Nelson and his bride will make their home in Cincinnati on their return from a trip to New York.
Charles has been employed as an engineer for the Johnson Service Company of Milwaukee for the past two and one-half years. For over a year he has been stationed at Cincinnati in their office. Before working for the company he attended the school of engineering at the University of Wisconsin.
His bride, Miss Kessler, will be remembered by any Owen people as she visited in Owen people as she visited in Owen and gained many friends here a year ago this Christmas. The couple’s many friends in Owen and vicinity extend them their sincere wishes for a happy wedded life.
