Linneman, Henry E. (18 SEP 1871 - 19 DEC 1938)

Funeral services were conducted at the Griebenow-Weirich Funeral Home on Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock for Henry E. Linneman, who passed away Monday afternoon at four o’clock, due to a stroke of apoplexy. Death came suddenly to Mr. Linneman as he had left the house in mid-afternoon and had walked up town to do some shopping. It was while he was walking down Central Av. That he was afflicted with a stroke while in front of Jensen Brothers Drug Store building that proved fatal to him. He passed away immediately.

Henry E. Linneman was born in Burlington, Ia., Sept. 18, 1871, where he resided until 1919, when he settled on a farm in the town of Mead (Clark Co., Wis.). Due to ill health he was forced to give up farming in 1931, after which he made his home with a relative in Burlington, Ia. In May 1936 he came to Owen to make this home with his niece, Mrs. Russell Weaver. He was a man that was well loved by many young folks within the community. He loved to stop and visit with different business places along the street as he did his daily shopping. He possessed a keen sense of humor and kindness that made him a friend of everyone with whom he associated. His sudden passing was a shock to his many friends and relatives and his interesting and looked for visits will be missed by his friends.

Surviving, besides his wife, niece and family, are two brothers and four sisters, all of Burlington, Ia.

The body was taken to Burlington, where funeral service will be conducted Thursday afternoon with burial taking place in the Aspen Grove Cemetery.
