Warner, Mark B. (6 AUG 1818 - 6 DEC 1898)

Mr. M. B. Warner passed out painlessly in the 6th at 8:30 a.m. He died at his residence in the town of Warner where he had resided since 1870. He would have eighty years of age on his next birthday.

He was one of the most noble men the writer has ever met. He had not an enemy in the world; was strictly honest; had a very kind, sociable disposition and was esteemed highly by all who knew him. In his active life, he farmed and lumbered in Clark County for many years. He was pioneer of Wisconsin and, having a most excellent memory, could relate many interesting reminisences. When he was a young man he was a successful hunter and trapper and many a deer and bear has fallen a prey to his unerring marksmanship.

He leaves a grief-stricken family of four sons and one daughter--Leroy, David, George, Henry and Mrs. Gertrude Mead--all of whom reside in Clark County. Mrs. Warner also survives him. H. M. R.
