Thompson, John B. (19 Jan. 1868 - 3 Nov. 1936)

John B. Thompson, proprietor of the Thompson Hotel of Abbotsford the past thirty years, died Wednesday of last week as the result of an apoplectic stroke. He had been ill the past year. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 at the home and at the Presbyterian church at 2:00 o’clock, Rev. L. C. Smith officiating, and internment was made in the Abbotsford cemetery. Pall bearers were William Nagel, Thomas Gibson, Al Strebe, Harry Treat, Walter Jackson and Joseph Fleischman.

The deceased was born in Shawano county January 19, 1868, thus reaching the age of sixty-eight years. He was a conductor on the Wisconsin Central railway before entering the hotel business. Surviving are his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Adeline Anderson of Alton, Ill., and Miss Irene Nelson of Abbotsford, two sisters, Mrs. Gusta Trondson of Minneapolis and Mrs. Chris Davik of Neenah and one brother, George Thompson of Dale, Wis.
