Ampe, Ruth (5 AUG 1939)

At 2 o’clock, Saturday August 5th, Miss Ruth Ampe and Rueben Gotter, both of Loyal, were quietly united in marriage by Judge O. W. Schoengarth at the Court House in Neillsville, Wis.

The bride chose a marquisette gown designed on princess lines with tiny buttons down the back. A pearl neckline enhanced the scalloped neckline. From a turban of white velvet fell her finger tip veil. She carried a colonial bouquet of roses, leverfew, and sweet peas.

As maid of honor, Miss Arlene Gotter, Loyal, sister of the groom wore a deep rose satin dress with a large picture hat to match. Miss Helen Emiers, Hartford, friend of the couple, attired in aqua blue satin with picture hat to match was bridesmaid. Both dresses were designed on princess lines similar to the bride’s. The attendants had wrist corsages of gladioli and baby breath.

The groom’s attendants were two cousins, Rupert and Milton Christman, both of Hartford. The bridegroom wore a suit of new green with boutonniere of Johanna roses. His attendants wore oxford grey suits with similar boutonnieres.

A wedding supper was served at the home of the bride’s parents to immediate friends and relatives. The home was decorated with streamers of pink, blue, and white.

The bride, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Achille Ampe, Loyal, graduated from the Loyal High School with the class of ’36 and for the past two years has been employed at the Farmers Exchange.

Mr. Gotter also attended school in Loyal. He is employed at the Catlin Corner Cheese Factory by his father.

At present the young couple will make their home in Loyal with the groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Gotter.

August third a miscellaneous shower was held at the Braver Town Hall for the bride-to-be. Many beautiful and useful gifts were received.

Their host of friends wish them much success and happiness in the future.
