LaVine, Francis (? - 28 Oct. 1887)

LaVine - In Weston, Clark County, Oct. 28th, 1887, Mr. Francis LaVine, at the advanced age of 80 years.

Mr. LaVine was born in the province of Montreal, Canada East. He came to Clark County in 1863. His health had always been delicate. For the past ten years he had gradually decline with old age. Quiet and reserved in his disposition and habits, he was much at home and thus cut off from a large acquaintance-ship. But still he was well known and highly respected. He survived his wife only a few weeks. During the services at her funeral he was too feeble to do more than recline on a couch. But he rallied to some extent until Oct. 21st, when he rapidly declined towards the grave. And thus was double sorrow brought to the afflicted home. The funeral was attended from the home on Sunday afternoon last, with a large gathering of sympathizing friends. The sermon was preached by Rev. W. T. Hendren, of Neillsville, and the body was then laid away beside the dear ones who had gone before.
