Vobora, Bernice M (March 18, 1923 - August 6, 2007)

Bernice M. Vobora, 84, of Marshfield died on Monday, August 6, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

Bernice was born on March 18, 1923 in Hewitt to Joseph N. and Agnes (Wolf) Heintz. She attended St. Joseph’s School in Hewitt.

She was united in marriage to James C. Vobora on June 4, 1946 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He died on June 13, 1996. After their marriage, they moved to the town of Cameron where they farmed until retiring in 1988. She continued to live in the town of Cameron until August of 2004, when she moved to Well’s Nature View on 21st Street.

Bernice was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, its Parish Council of Catholic Women, Lady Knights, Sunshine Homemakers, and was a 4-H leader. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and going to the casino.

Bernice is survived by four daughters, Marlys (Eugene) Hilgart, of Marshfield; Kathleen (Donald) Hansen, of Marshfield; Patricia (Andrew) Downing, of Milwaukee; Janalee (Steven) Wood, of Marshfield; three sons, Robert (Annette) Vobora, of Decorah, IA; Charles (Susan) Vobora, of Marshfield; and Mark (Denise) Vobora, of Auburndale; 18 grandchildren, John Hilgart, Stephanie Poole, Joshua, Rachel, Jacob and Sarah Hansen, Adam (Michele) Vobora, Trent (Kim) Miner, Rebecca, Katrina and Tianna Vobora, Jordan Downing, Nicholas and Samantha Wood, Aaron, Megan, Noah and Isaiah Vobora; four great-grandchildren, Cody and Amy Miner, Micah and Daniel Vobora.

Besides her parents and husband James, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene and Matthew Heintz and a sister Lorraine, in infancy.

A Memorial will be established at a later date.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic church with Rev. Peter Manickam, officiating. Dough Seubert will be the organist along with Michael Gonering as the vocalist.

Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery with her grandsons John Hilgart, Joshua and Jacob Hansen, Adam Vobora, Trent Miner, Nicholas Wood, Aaron Vobora and Jordan Downing serving as the pallbearers.

Visitations will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday at Rembs/Kundinger Funeral Home and again on Friday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of the services. There will be a Parish Council of Catholic Women rosary service at 4 p.m. Thursday and a combined rosary service at 6:30 p.m. with the Parish and Knights of Columbus.
