Clintsman, Fred (1898 - 23 Feb. 1979)

Greenwood - Fred Clintsman, 80, Greenwood, died at 2:29 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. He had been admitted there earlier in the day.

Services are set tentatively for 2 p.m. Monday at Grace United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. Sunday at Rinka Funeral Home in Greenwood. There will be visitation at the church after 10:30 Monday morning until time of services.

A complete obituary will be published Monday.

Clintsman, Fred C. (28 March 1898 – 23 February 1979)

Fred C. Clintsman, 80, of 106 N. Eaton Ave., Greenwood, died February 23, in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. He was born May 28, 1898, in the Town of York to Charles and Ellen Clintsman. He received his education in the Globe School.

He was married March 28, 1923, to Luella E. Sharp in Greenwood. After their marriage, they lived for one year on an Oshkosh farm. In 1924, they moved to the Town of Eaton where they farmed for 46 years. They moved to the city of Greenwood in 1970 and observed their Golden wedding anniversary in March 1973. Clintsman was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and worked with the Green Thumb program.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Theodore of Wausau and Ralph of Rt. 1 Loyal; four daughters, Mrs. Alfred (Marie) Thompson, Curtiss, Mrs. Willis (Irene) Hohman of Watertown, Mrs. Ray (Shirley) Kurth of Wausau and Mrs. James (Nell) Goetz of Stevens Point; two brothers, Floyd of Homosassa, Fa., and Francis of Greenwood; and two sisters, Mrs. Ollie Leininger of Fond du Lac and Mrs. Celia Berthold of Minneapolis.

The Rinka Funeral Home of Greenwood was in charge of arrangements with services held February 26 at the Grace United Methodist Church. The Rev. Lorinda Sandford officiated. Pallbearers, all grandsons, were Robin and Tim Kurth, Gregg and David Clintsman and Tom and Richard Goetz. Gary Schultz sang “How Great Thou Art” accompanied by Rochelle Schultz.
