Amundson, Emil #2 (1874? - 15 OCT 1934)

Emil Amundson, age 60 years, was instantly killed Monday afternoon at Waukegan, Ill., when he was struck by an automobile driven by a hit and run driver. Authorities at Waukegan are in search of the driver, and entertain hopes that he will be caught and brought to justice shortly.

Mr. Amundson, up until about six years ago, was a resident of the town of Beaver (Clark Co., Wis.), residing on his farm six miles south and a mile east of Owen, and since his moving to Illinois, the farm has been operated by his son.

His body arrived here on the Soo Line Wednesday morning, accompanied by his two daughters, who reside in Chicago, and was taken to the Griebenow-Weirich undertaking parlors.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon from the Norwegian Lutheran Church at Greenwood (Clark Co.), Rev. Aaberg, pastor, officiating, and burial will take place in the Greenwood Cemetery.

He is survived by one son, of the town of Beaver; two daughters, who reside in Chicago; and one daughter, who lives at Grace Harbor, Newfoundland, all of whom came to attend the funeral.
