A wedding of much importance took place Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 7, 1934, at the home of Mrs. John Zimmer, residing south and east of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), when her daughter, Miss Alene Lydia, became the bride of Bert Eberts, a resident of the town of Hixon (Clark Co.), residing four miles north of Owen, Wis.

The young couple were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Chester Gossop (Glasshof?) of Thorp, and the ceremony was performed by the Rev. F.H. Sprengler, pastor of the Thorp Lutheran Church. Only immediate relatives of the contracting parties being present at the wedding. Following the ceremony a wedding dinner was served at the home of the bride’s mother and a reception held.

The bride is a young lady of refinement and is highly esteemed in her community, and graduated from the Thorp High School with the class of 1927. Since that time she has remained at home.

The groom is well known in Owen and the township of Hixon, and has operated his mother’s farm for the past several years. He is now secretary of the Clark County Young Democratic Club.

They will be at home at the groom’s farm four mile north of Owen, after Feb. 15. They have the best wishes of their numerous friends and relatives for a happy wedded life.
