Ludington, Mary #2 (24 JAN 1853 - 28 JUN 1898)

A telegram was received here early Wednesday morning that Mrs. Geo. A. Ludington had died very suddenly at Chicago of heart disease. She went to Chicago on Monday, accompanied by her mother, Mrs. O’Neill, and her daughter, Mrs. I.E. Lacey. While there she was suddenly taken with an attack of heart trouble and expired almost immediately. Her husband and daughter, Mary, who were at Camp Douglas, took the midnight train for Chicago and will return with the remains today.

Mrs. Ludington possessed a large circle of friends in this community and news of her death is a sad shock to all. The funeral occurs this afternoon at 2:00 from the house.

Owing to absence of the family of the late Mrs. Mary Ludington at the time of going to press last week, our notice of her death was lacking some details, which are here supplied. She was born at Cooperstown, Otsego Co., N.Y., Jan. 24, 1853; married at Black River Falls Oct. 13, 1869; died June 28, 1898. She was prominent in Royal Neighbors and W.R.C. circles, and has instituted many lodges in both.
