Hugoboom, June V. (12 JUN 1936)

In a very quiet ceremony at the Sacred Heart Parsonage last Friday noon at 12 o’clock, Miss June V. Hugoboom, daughter of R.W. Hugoboom, became the bride of A.J. Makovec, Little Black, son of Mr. and Mrs. M.J. Makovec of Little Black. The single ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. J.A. Seeboth.

The bride was attired in a white silk jacket dress, white felt hat and white accessories. She wore a shoulder corsage of blue sweet peas and lilies of the valley. Her bridesmaid, Mrs. Clarence Cypher of Little Black, wore pink silk and white accessories and shoulder corsage of pink and white sweet peas. The groom was attended by Clarence Cypher.

Immediately following the ceremony a buffet luncheon was served at the home of the bride’s father for the bridal party and immediate relatives. An informal reception was hled in the evening for a few friends and relatives.

The bride graduated from the Dorchester (Clark Co., Wis.) High School and has been employed as linotypist in the Clarion office for the past four years, and as correspondent for the Wausau Record-Herald. The groom has been owner of the Makovec Printing Co. at Little Black since 1925. Both young people are well known here and their man friends wish them continued joy and happiness in future years.

They will be at home to their many friends at Little Black after July 15.

Among those from away who attended the reception were Mrs. M.J. Makovec and sons, John, Matt and Gene, Mrs. M.C. Makovec, daughters, Mary and Rose, son, Frank, Jean and Ivan Makovec, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Freis, Mrs. Minnie Jochimson and son, Ray, Casimer Lukas and Anne, John and William Robida of Little Black, Mr. and Mrs. E.E. Gruber and daughter, Evelyn, Medford, Mrs. Lottie Brown, Mr. and Mrs. B.C. Swarthout and Miss Isabelle Georgas of Spencer.
