Kniess, Florence (Marriage - 20 Oct. 1931)

A very pretty wedding was solemnized at a nuptial high mass at the St. Mary’s Catholic church in this city Tuesday morning, Rev. H. Lachnit reading the marriage ceremony, when Miss Florence Kniess, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kniess of Wausau, became the bride of Theodore Frane, son of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Frane of Colby. The couple was attended by the groom’s brother and sister, Miss Evelyn and Mr. Alvin Frane.

The bride was attired in a beautiful gown of white satin, ankle length, trimmed with lace and a trailing veil fashioned in cap effect caught with pearls. Her shower bouquet consisted of roses and baby’s breath. The bridesmaid’s dress was salmon pink satin, ankle length, trimmed with lace, and a headband of rhinestones and rose buds. Her bouquet consisted of roses, chrysanthemums and asters.

A wedding breakfast was served at the home of the groom’s parents after the ceremony to immediate relatives and a dinner and reception followed at the home of the bride’s parents at Wausau. Both homes were trimmed with pink and white streamers, autumn foliage and green flowers.

Those from out of town present besides the family members were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Dern, Ralph Lussenden, Mr. and Mrs. August Stark, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Kniess and son, Myron, and daughter, Lorraine, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Cleveland and daughter, Vivian, and Bettyjane, son, Roger, Eugene Majeske and daughter, Loretta, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Zillmann, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Dehnels and son, Avil and friend, Belinda, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Dehnels, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Zillman and daughter Iris, all of Wausau, and Mrs. Mary Hinkel of Abbotsford and Edmund Demmer of Centralia, Wash.

A free wedding dance was given at Wiedenhoeft’s pavilion in the evening which was largely attended.

The newlyweds left on a wedding trip to Minneapolis, Minn., and will be at home after November 1st on the Mrs. A. R. Beyerl farm.
