Maslanka, Valentine (14 FEB 1855 - 26 DEC 1936)

Valentine Maslanka, 81 years of age, died of pneumonia at his farm home in the town of Thorp last Saturday.

Mr. Maslanka was born in Poland, Europe, on Feb. 14, 1855. He was united in marriage with Mary Stelanski in 1880 and one year later they came to America, residing at Ottis, Ind., Oshkosh, Wis. and Joliet, Ill., for short periods until they came to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) in 1898 and located on a farm. Mrs. Maslanka preceded her husband in death several years ago.

Near relatives left to mourn are three sons, Steve and John of Thorp, and Barney of Chicago, and three daughters, Rose Fahlbush of Owen, Wis., Ann Lasinski and Francis Egnoski of Oshkosh, Wis.

Tuesday morning the funeral procession assemble at the Bogumill Funeral Home where the body lay in state and services were held at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church at ten o’clock, Rev. F.A. Kulig officiating. Interment took place in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were: Jos. Burzynski, Frank Kowalski, Frank Soborowicz, John Navarre, Victor Soborowicz, Joe Kowalski.
