Schwieso, John C. (8 AUG 1942 - 17 MAY 2007)

John C. "Jack" Schwieso, 64, Marshfield, died on Thursday, May 17, 2007, at his home surrounded by his family and friends. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Monday, May 21, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, town of McMillan. The Rev. Anthony L. Straseske officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery with Duaine, James Bruce and Brian Schwieso, Karl Zimmerman and Donald Harlson serving as the pallbearers. Melvin :Doc" Muller was an honorary pallbearer. Military rites were conducted at the cemetery by the American Legion Post #54, Marshfield.

John C. Schwieso was born on Aug. 8, 1942, in Loyal, to Theodore and Orel (nee Hutchins) Schwieso. He attended Loyal High School, then entered the United States Army on May 10, 1960, during the Vietnam Conflict. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam before his honorable discharge on Feb. 26, 1963. He married Arlene Weber Larson on Oct. 25, 2002, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. He had a varied work history until he completed training as a police officer and served on the Marshfield Police Department from Aug. 3, 1970, until Aug. 9, 1977. He had his own trucking business from 1977 to 1982. He moved to Montana for a time, returned to Wisconsin in 1983, and started work for Stromberg Motors, Appleton. He spent most of his career as a sales manager for Jim Maldwin at Westside Garage, Berlin. He worked for a short time for Mid-State Truck, Marshfield, before he retired in 2003. He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Disabled American Veterans, Harley Owners Group, and a past member of the Marshfield Elks Lodge. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and his love for life, family and friends. He will be missed but never forgotten.

Survivors include his wife, Arlene; his mother, Orel Schwieso, Chili; five children, Ann (Matthew) Zeegers, Appleton, Terry (Nikki) Schwieso, Mukwonago, Todd (Mary) Schwieso, New Berlin, John (Jessica) Schwieso, West Bend, and Sara (Jeffrey)Poupore, West Bend; five stepchildren, Ritchie (Liz Swisher, M.D.) Larson, M.D., Seattle, Wash., Mitchell (Kristi) Larson, Marshfield, Kory Larson, Huntley, Ill., Bradley (Brenda) Larson, Marshfield, and Darwin Larson, Unity; his grandchildren, Caleb and Taylor Zeegers, Payton, Jacob, Megan, Haley, Jade and Jorja Schwieso, Quentin, Caelyn and Gwyneth Poupore, and Nicole, Stephanie, Trenton, Trevor, Trey, Taylor, Haylie, Jake and Reagan Larson; brothers and sisters, Duaine (Macy) Schwieso, Chili, James (Barbara) Schwieso, Waunakee, Bruce (Cathy) Schwieso, Appleton, Cheri (Dennis Geuttsen) Schwieso, Arpin, Charmaine (Russell) Becker, Sussex, and Brian (Lois) Schwieso, Marshfield.

Preceding him in death were his father, Theodore; and a brother, Theron "Terry" Schwieso.
