Szczech, Donald Michael (1968 - 30 May 2007)

Donald 'Donnie' Michael Szczech, age 38, of rural Stanley, Wis., passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at his home.

Don was born in Chippewa Falls, Wis. the son of Francis and Ramona (Ogurek) Szczech. He grew up in rural Stanley, attending area schools, graduating from Stanley-Boyd High School in 1987. He continued his education in agriculture at CVTC in farm business and production management. He was united in marriage to Kristina Meyer on April 9, 1994, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Cadott. Don owned and operated the family farm north of Stanley. He was a member and past elder of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Boyd and an active member of the Edson Hilltop 4-H Club.

Don's first and foremost commitment was to his family and the family farm. His love for his children was forever evident. He enjoyed muscle cars, building and reading and had an unending passion for learning.

He is survived by his wife, Kristina; his children, Duane (12), Brian (10), Victoria (3) and Nicholas (1), all at home; his mother, Ramona (Mona) Szczech; two brothers, David of Osseo and Dean of Stanley; his parents-in–law, Duane 'Bear' and Lois Meyer; sisters and brothers-in-law, Melinda (Tom) Symbal, Tracey (Seth) Proctor and Beth (Jeremy) Robinson; nieces and nephews, Austin, Brianna, Elizabeth, Sean and Sydney, whom he dearly loved and treated as his own; many aunts, uncles and nieces; his lifelong friend, Tom Symbal; and dear friends too numerous to mention.

He was preceded in death by his father, Francis Szczech, in 2002.

Don will be dearly and forever missed by his family and friends. His inviting smile and sparkling personality are gone from the sight but never from the hearts of the many lives he touched.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2007, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Cadott, with Pastor Raymond Bell officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday at the church.

Plombon Funeral Service in Stanley is assisting the family with arrangements.
