Furlong, Alice A. (8 April 1840 - 18 May 1884)

Furlong - In this city, on Sunday, May 18, 1884, Alice A., wife of Edward Furlong, aged 44 years.

Mrs. Furlong was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Lynch of this city, and was born near Pittsburg, Pa., April 8, 1840. She with her parents came to Neillsville in the spring of 1856, and was married to Edward Furlong two years later. Three children came to bless this union, a son and two daughters, Francis D., Florence and Kittie, all grown. In her younger days Mrs. F. was identified with the M. E. Church, but as her family grew up about her home became the dearest spot to her, and the society of husband and children was her ideal. In later years she has not been connected with any church, but still retained the early Christian teaching which polished a lovely and amiable disposition and won her many warm friends. Her bereavement falls heavily on her family and relatives, one of whom, a sister, Mrs. S. B. Hewett, is in Florida, who deeply feel the anguish of the death of a loved wife, mother and sister.

The funeral took place from the residence on Tuesday morning, the 20th, Rev. W. T. Hendren officiating.
