Luce, Joan Jeanette (Marriage - 29 Sept. 1951)

The Rev. Lee Holmes and the Rev. Frederick Smith officiated at the nuptial ceremony at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, September 29 in the Unity Methodist Church, when Miss Joan Jeanette Luce, daughter of Mrs. Helen Luce, Thorp, became the bride of Clifford H. Binning, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Binning, Unity, Wisconsin.

Miss LaVon Domer, Minneapolis, was the organist during the service and Rae Ann Loughead sang "Because" and "I Promise You," accompanied by her mother, Mrs. Tom Loughead.

A ballerina-length gown of Chantilly lace over satin featuring a detachable bolero jacket was worn by the bride when she was given in marriage by her brother, Howard Luce, Chicago. Her fingertip veil of imported net illusion cascaded from a satin band of seed pearls and nylon ruffles and she carried three orchids and stephanotis arranged on a lace heart shaped background.

Mrs. Myron Greaser, Abbotsford, served the bride as matron of honor. Her ballerina-length frock of white organdy over a blue taffeta slip was detailed with a boat neckline and pockets trimmed with daisies and a hoop skirt. In her hair she wore a crown of daisies and lace with yellow ribbons. White organdy mitts completed her ensemble.

The bridesmaid, Mrs. Stanley Jezior, Chicago, Ill., was dressed like the matron of honor only she had a darker blue slip. Her crown was styled from blue lace and yellow mums. Both carried heart-shaped bouquets of yellow daisy mums.

Don Wisnosky, Northfield, was best man, and Earl Binning, Minneapolis, brother of the groom, who served as the groomsman, also ushered.

Mrs. Helen Luce viewed her daughter’s wedding attired in an aqua lace dress with matching accessories. Pinned at her shoulder was a corsage of chrysanthemums.

A dinner was served in the church parlors following the nuptial ceremony.

The bride, a graduate of Tuley High School, Chicago, attended the Illinois College of Commerce in Chicago for one year. Before her marriage she was employed by the St. Croix Corp. Her husband, who graduated from Unity, Wis. High School, is engaged in farming one-half mile east of Unity.

Following a wedding trip to the Northernair, Three Lakes, they are residing on the farm of the groom.

Guests at the wedding were from Chicago, Minneapolis, Marshfield, Thorp and Abbotsford, Wis.

The Register joins their many local friends in extending congratulations and best wishes for a long and happy wedded life.
