Anderson, Mr./Mrs. Morris Sr. (Gold - 22 AUG 1925)

Mr. and Mrs. Morris Anderson Sr. were married fifty years last Saturday, August 22nd, 1925, and the occasion was duly celebrated at the United Lutheran Church last Sunday.

A large crowd was in attendance to help the happy couple celebrate and Rev. M.K. Aaberg preached a very ? sermon. The choir rendered several splendid selections. After the service a wedding dinner was served in the church basement. After dinner several of the members of the congregation gave short talks and spent several hours visiting.

Mr. and Mrs. Ole J. Johnson were seated near the front of the church with the wedding couple having celebrated their golden anniversary last year. The church and the church basement were beautifully decorated for the occasion.

Mr. and Mrs. Anderson were both born in Norway and were United in marriage at Christiana, Norway, Aug. 22nd, 1875. They resided there about nine years after their marriage and then came to America, locating on a farm near Longwood (Clark Co., Wis.). Here they lived for several years and then came to Greenwood where they resided on a farm west of the city for a number of years, and later moved to Greenwood where they have since resided.

Five children were born to this union, of which three are living. They are Otto of Stevens Point, Albert of Fond du Lac and Morris Jr. of Stevens Point. They together with their families were present at the celebration Sunday. Other relatives and friends from away were Mrs. Trautche and Mrs. Johnson of Chicago, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Ole Jorgenson of Seattle, Wash., Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Erickson of Larson, Wis., and Mr. Jacobson of Iola, Wis.

Members of the congregation and other friends presented the happy couple with a purse of $50 gold.

Mr. and Mrs. Anderson are among our best known and highly respected citizens and the Gleaner joins their many friends in extending congratulations and best wishes for many more years of happy wedded life.
