Christ the King Catholic Church at Spencer recorded its first marriage Wednesday, February 8, 1939.

At the parsonage of the church at 4:15 P. M. Miss Olive Owens, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Owens, Spencer, and Clement Weister, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Weister exchanged their marriage vows.

Only immediate relatives attended the service, which was performed by Rev. Father Joseph Graff.

The bride chose a street length dress of dark wine, with a black hat and accessories. She wore a shoulder corsage of mixed flowers.

Mr. and Mrs. Bert Henke, brother-in-law and sister of the groom attended the couple. Mrs. Henke wore a dress of Kelly green and black accessories. She also wore a corsage of mixed flowers.

Following the ceremony, twenty guests were entertained at a reception and dinner at the home of the bride’s parents.. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Al Beining and Richard Owens of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Henke, Riplinger; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Weister, Loyal. Mr. and Mrs. Warner Owens, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rollins, Miss Alice Schultz and Cecilia Rollins, Spencer.

Mr. Weister and his bride will make their home with the bride’s parents at Spencer for the present. Coles Corners Cor.
