Grigg, Jean (Marriage - 10 Jul. 1948)

On Saturday, July 10, at Wauwatosa Evangelical Church, Milwaukee, occurred the marriage of Miss Jean Grigg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Grigg, 5038 N. Hollywood, Whitefish Bay, and Milton J. Greve, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Greve of Unity. The Rev. Nathan N. Bartel officiated at the ceremony at 4 o’clock in the afternoon.

During the ceremony soloist Willis Prather sang "Because" and "Ich Liebe Dich" (I Love You) accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Morgan.

The bride wore a white satin gown with a lace yoke edged with lace ruffles and a tram. The skirt of the gown was colonial style with tiny lace ruffles from waist to hem. The long sleeves came to a point at her wrists. Her fingertip veil was edged with lace similar to that of her gown. She carried an arm bouquet of white roses, white snap dragons and white lace flowers tied with a white satin ribbon.

Miss Shirley Mueller acted as maid of honor and was attired in light blue taffeta with a net headdress to match. Her gown was fashioned with an off shoulder effect and with a bustle. Her elbow length gloves matched her gown. Her arm bouquet was of red roses tied with American Beauty satin ribbon.

Gene Greve of Unity acted as best man for his brother.

The bride’s mother wore a pink crepe dress and had a corsage of white roses.

The mother of the groom wore a gray crepe dress and had a corsage of pink roses.

The church and the home of the bride were both decorated with cut flowers and candlebra. The three-tier white wedding cake which centered the dinner table was beautifully decorated with white roses.

A reception followed the wedding at Smith Park Lodge, 5462 N. 33rd St. from 8:30 to 11:30, where there were about 60 guests present.

Out of town guests included Mr. and Mrs. Harry Greve, Unity; Mr. and Mrs. Russell Binning and son Russell, of Oakfield; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kuester of Keil; Mr. and Mrs. Duane Bosma, South Milwaukee; Mrs. Henry Dishaw of New Holstein and also relatives from St. Paul and Chicago.

The young couple took a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin and after August 1 they will be at home to friends at Whitefish Bay.

The Register joins their many local friends in extending congratulations and best wishes for a long and happy wedded life.
