Maple Works - 14 May 1882

Editors Times: The rainy, disagreeable weather of the past week clothed out fields and woods with a very beautiful green robe, and through open doors and windows, the sweet fragrance of flowers will the wild birds’ songs greet our senses, bringing the conviction that spring is really here.

Our vicinity has been remarkably quiet since the Good Templar’s convention.

The usual amount of farm work is being done, and most of our farmers are ahead of the season, having to sow again some fields where the cold wet weather killed the first seeding.

Chas. Renne deserves a chromo. For clearing up the rough pine slashing near the Advent church, made by N. H. Withee.

Rev. Case, of Loyal, will deliver a temperance lecture at Marsh’s hall next Saturday evening. All are invited.

Fred Davis has two real gates, and he expects every one who passed to observe them and make a bow. All **Rest cut off. **
