Johnson, Sophie (27 JAN 1864 - 9 SEP 1933)

Mrs. Louis Johnson, a former resident of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), died at her home at Richmond, Calif., on Saturday, Sept. 9th, 1933. The remains will arrive here on Wednesday and the funeral will take place on Friday afternoon from the Masonic Hall. Burial, following the services, in the family lot in the village cemetery.

Mrs. Louis Johnson died at her home at Berkley, Calif., on Saturday, Sept. 9, 1933. Sophia Rasmussen was born in Denmark on Jan. 27, 1864. She had reached the age of 69 years, 7 months and 13 days. When but a child she accompanied her parents to America, who located on a farm near Colby, Wis., where she grew to womanhood, and was united in marriage to Louis Johnson in 1885. Shortly after their marriage they moved to this village, removing later to Stanley where her husband died twenty-two years ago.

Left to mourn are three sons, Ludwig of Richmond, Calif., Ingwald and Harold of Berkley, Calif., and three daughters, Mrs. Oscar Haugen, Berkley, Calif., Mrs. Kenneth Fish, Albany, Calif., and Mrs. Edw. Wood, Richmond, Calif.; also ten grandchildren. Other survivors are three brothers, Julius of Thorp, Charles of Alma, Wash., and Fred of Kent, Wash., and two sisters, Mrs. P. Johnson of Kent, Wash., and one still resident in Denmark.

Christian Science services were held at the local Masonic Hall here on Friday afternoon, followed by the Stanley O.E.S. services at the grave in the village cemetery where interment took place.
