Mellenthin, Eldor F. (14 May 1916 - 8 May 1989)

Spencer, Wis. - Eldor F. Mellenthin, 72, Spencer, died at 11:10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where he had been admitted April 28.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer, with the Rev. William Ruhbusch officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, North Spencer.

Pallbearers will be Charles Ehlert, Roger Woodkey, Brian Denk, Duane Matter, Ken Monness and Herbert Schwantes.

Visitation will be at Rux Funeral Home, Spencer, from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday.

He was born May 14, 1916, in Clark County, to Emil and Elsie Mellenthin. He attended Willow Brook School and graduated from Spencer High School.

He was married to Bernice Woodkey, who died in September 1963. He married Vera Huber Sept. 29, 1967, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, North Spencer.

He farmed in the town of Unity. He also worked at Land O’Lakes, Spencer, retiring in 1981.

He was a former member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, and held various church positions there. He was presently a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Corrine Allar of Marshfield; one son, Erland Schweke of Spencer; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents and one son.
