Zimmer, John Sr. #2 (12 OCT 1871 - 16 APR 1933)

Funeral services were held for the late John Zimmer, Sr., of the Town of Reseburg (Clark Co., Wis.) at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Town of Reseburg, on Wednesday, April 19th, at 2:00 p.m.

Mr. Zimmer was born in Ontario, Canada, on Oct. 12, 1871. At the age of 6 (1877) he, with his parents, moved to Neillsville, where they lived on a farm until 1880, when they moved to the present Zimmer farm in the Town of Reseburg, where he died on Sunday, April 16th, 1933, at 12:00 p.m. as the result of pneumonia.

In 1896 he was married to Miss Bertha Anna Schmidt of Dorchester (Clark Co.). This union was blessed with five children, 2 sons, John Jr. and Robert, both of the Town of Reseburg, and three daughters, Ida (Mrs. R. Daniel of Thorp), Alene and Marie, the latter having preceded him in death.

Mr. Zimmer was well known in this community, having served as assessor for the town of Reseburg for twenty years.

Those who mourn his loss are his wife, Bertha, their four children, two sisters, (Mrs. Herman Buss of Reseburg and Mrs. Peter Deforth of St. Paul Park, Minn.), and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were performed by the Rev. F. Sprengler of Thorp, interment taking place at Sylvan Cemetery in the Town of Reseburg.
