Moser, Marie (25 Jan. 1863 - 2 April 1936)

Marie Moser was born Jan. 25th, 1863, in Laupersqyl, Kt. Bern, Switzerland. On Feb. 4, 1882, she was united in marriage to Frederick Moser. Two years later they came to American, settling in Green County, Wisconsin. In 1895, they moved to Columbia, being among the early settlers there. In 1919, they sold their farm spending the following year in Cloverdale, Ore., returning to Wisconsin in 1921, making their home in Neillsville, Wis. Since October, 1929, on account of failing health, they made their home with their daughter, Mrs. Arthur Christen, southwest of this village. On Monday, March 30th, she was taken suddenly ill, and passed away April 2nd, 1936.

Surviving Mrs. Moser are three children, Frederick, of Rockford, Ill, Marie (Mrs. F. J.) Mietzke, Toledo, Wash., and Emma (Mrs. Arthur) Christen, Humbird. Two sons preceded her in death, one in infancy in Switzerland, and Robert in April, 1933, at Neillsville, Wis. She leaves seven grandchildren, also one sister, Mrs. A. Neuenschwander, Gaston, Oregon, and many friends.

It was the privilege of Mr. and Mrs. Moser to celebrate their golden wedding on Feb. 4, 1932.

Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Moser and daughter, Edna, of Rockford, Ill., and John and Edwin Moser, of Neillsville, also many friends from Columbia, Merrillan, and the local vicinity attended the funeral services, which was held in St. John’s Church, at 2:00 o’clock Sunday afternoon, April 5th. Rev. V. D. Weidler officiated. Burial was in the family plot beside her husband in Mentor Cemetery.
