Pinter, John Sr. (11 OCT 1853 - 7 JUL 1933)

Funeral services for John Pinter Sr., who passed away at his farm home in the town of Holton Friday afternoon, July 7, 1933, were held at the St. Louis Catholic Church Tuesday morning at 9:30. Mass was said by the Rev. Father N.E. Kreibich and burial took place in the Memorial Cemetery with John Schefsick, Seth Barker, Frank Hopfensperger, Clarence Clifford, Harry Hoffmann and Nick Heindl acting as pallbearers. Mr. Pinter, whose death was caused by old age and complications, had been ailing for sometime and had been confined to his bed for the past month.

John Pinter was born in Besseringen, Germany, Oct. 11, 1853 and was 79 years, 8 months and 26 days old at time of death. He grew to manhood in his native country, coming to the United States in the spring of 1881. After spending a few years in Nebraska, he came to Iowa. On May 1, 1893 he was united in marriage to Miss Maria Hatscher at Menson, Iowa. The happy couple lived in Iowa for 3 years, moving to Manistique, Mich., where they owned and operated a farm until 1908, when they moved to their town of Holton (Marathon Co., Wis.) farm, 4 miles southeast of Dorchester, where they have since lived. Eight children were born to this happy union, three of whom died in infancy.

Mr. Pinter was a kind husband and loving father, and it is with heavy hearts that his family and his many friends acknowledge his departure from this life.

Besides his wife, Mr. Pinter leaves three daughters, Mrs. Anna Bostad, Mrs. Vera Herrmann and Mrs. Marie Ruesch, two sons, Joseph and John, and four grandchildren, Joyce Bostad, Anita and Richard Ruesch, and Lawrence Pinter.

Out of town relatives and friends attending the services were Mrs. Ben Bostad and daughter, Joyce, Madison, Mrs. W.B. Herrmann, Pacific, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Ruesch, daughter, Anita, and son, Richard, Stevens Point, Mrs. Earl Fields, Mrs. Earl Taylor, Mrs. Frank Penkoska, Mr. and Mrs. Elton Morey and Elaine Macogni, all of Stevens Point, Mrs. Lena Herrmann, Mrs. Fred Buehler, Mrs. August Ruesch, Mr. and Mrs. George Ruesch and Lawrence Ruesch, all of Medford, and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Suennen of Athens.

The Clarion joins their many friends in offering sincerest sympathy to the mourning ones in this dark hour.
