Gerald Paul

Gerald Paul, 69, Medford, died Monday, February 5th, 2007 at the Clark County Health Care Center, Owen, where he had resided the past seven months.

Funeral services were held February 10th at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford, with Father Gerard Williger and Deacon Joe Stefancin presiding. Burial was at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, Medford with graveside military rites performed by the Medford VFW military honors team.

Gerald was born July 31st, 1937 in the Town of Little Black to the late Edgar and Elizabeth (Gebert) Paul. He received his education at Liberty Elementary School in the Town of Little Black and was a 1955 graduate of Dorchester High School.

After his education, he worked for Hurd Hillwork in Medford for a period of time. Gerald served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959 and was stationed in Germany. After the service, he worked in Kenosha and Milwaukee at American Motors factories.

Gerald married Louise (Scherman) June 27th, 1960 at Golva, North Dakota. After his marriage, Gerald and Louise returned to Medford where he worked construction for Paulson Construction for one year and then from 1962 until his retirement in 1999, he worked for Steel Structures which later became Houtari Construction.

He also umpired Dairyland Baseball for 25 years. Gerald enjoyed hunting, fishing, all sports in general, traveling, playing pool, cards, yard work, the outdoors and working at the Lions Ball Park in Whittlesey.

Mr. Paul was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Whittlesey Lions Club and a charter member of the National Fresh Water Fishing Hall of fame for the past 29 years.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Louise Paul, Medford; a daughter, Dawn (Scott) Weiler, Colby; two sons, Duane (Cindy), Laguana Niguel, CA, and Douglas (Ronda), Milwaukee; a sister Shirley (Dale) Wainscott, Mukwonago; four brothers Clayton, Franklin, Glendon (Agnes) Dorchester, Lawrence (Mary Ann) Milwaukee and Arthur (Judy) Stetsonville; and six grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon and Neil; and two sisters in infancy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial to either Whittlesey Lions Club or Holy Rosary Catholic Church and School, Medford.
