Skrivani, Mary (16 JAN 1856 - 29 OCT 1931)

Mrs. Mary Skrivani, nee Marchak, passed away at her home last Thursday after a five weeks illness of metastasic intestinal cancer. Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 9:30 from the St. Louis Catholic Church with Rev. P. Pitzenberger officiating. Interment took place at the Memorial Cemetery with Ed Rauscher, Hy Jantsch, John Plier, John Goessl, August Miller and Wm. Schumacher acting as pallbearers.

Mary Marchak was born on Jan. 16, 1856, in Austria and was 75 years, 9 months and 13 days old at time of death. She immigrated to this country with her parents when she was about 20 years of age. They settled in Chicago for awhile and then moved to Iron Mountain, Mich., where she was united in marriage to Steve Skrivani on July 20, 1885. Shortly after they moved to Dorchester (Clark Co., Wis.) country and lived on a farm near here for 24 years, and for the past 17 years in their home near the village. Mr. Skruvani passed away in 1926 leaving Mrs. Skruvani to the care of their children, Frank Long and Mrs. W.H. Tischendorf.

Those who best know her, loved her, and her family, shall greatly miss her from their circle. She was a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church and a willing worker in the Christian Mothers, to which she belonged.

Out of town folks present at the services were Mr. and Mrs. John Budan of Stetsonville, Mr. and Mrs. James Sedlack, Grandpa Sedlack and Mrs. A.C. Georgas and family of Spencer.

The Clarion joins the host of friends in extending sympathy to the bereaved.
