Leutsch, Fred (? - 24 AUG 1931)

Fred Leutsch, well known in this community, passed away at the home of his brother, Herman, at Gardena, N.D., last Monday, Aug. 24th, 1931, of cancer. He had been ailing for some time and his death, although not completely unexpected, was a shock, nevertheless. Mr. Leutsch was one of the early pioneers of Gardena and was well known to people of Bottineau County.

Mr. Leutsch came to Dorchester (Clark Co., Wis.) about 18 years ago to spend his winter here, as it was his folk’s home before they moved to Dakota. During the summer he would return to Dakota, but the last 10 years he was here he spent most of the time in Dorchester, Wis. Mr. Leutsch left here about 2 years ago, after the fire on Front Street destroyed the building he occupied.

Funeral services were held Thursday at noon from the home and at 12:30 from the German Lutheran Church at Gardena. His many friends here join in offering sympathy to the bereaved.
