Voight, Elpha (9 JUN 1938)

At an 8 o’clock nuptial high mass celebrated Thursday morning June 9 in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church Miss Elpha Voight became the bride of Chas. B. Hahn. The Rev. Father Aloys Zinthefer officiated. Leonard’s Mass in B flat was beautifully sung by the Haas family. The tenor solo, Kyrie was sung by Alfred Haas and the soprano solo, Gloria, was sung by his daughter, Patricia.

A large number of friends attended the impressive ceremony. To the familiar strains of Mendelssohn’s wedding march the bridal party entered. The bride was lovely in a white silk marquisette gown in princess style and with a short train. Her finger-tip veil was held with a wreath of orange blossoms. She carried a rosary and a shower bouquet of mixed flowers.

Her bridesmaid, Miss Natalie McDermott of Oshkosh was gowned in Corn-flower blue silk marquisette with hat to match. She carried a formal bouquet. Miss McDermott was a business college classmate of Miss Voight. The bride-groom’s attendant as best man was Kenneth Tepolt of Appleton, a school-mate of the groom at Marshfield.

Covers were laid for approximately 50 guests at an 11 o’clock luncheon at the home of the bride’s grandmother, Mrs. Mary Voight. Table decorations were in blue and white and the room was also decorated with summer flowers.

Guests from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schomer and Mr. Albert Zuehlke, Oshkosh; Mr. Edwin Hahn, Mr. Gagnelius and daughter Rita and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Baer, Marshfield; and Jack and Mary Jane Firnstahl, Colby.

Miss Voight is the daughter and only child of Mr. and Mrs. Hal Voight. She grew to woman in Loyal and graduated from the Loyal High School. She is also a graduate of the Oshkosh business college.

Mr. Hahn is the son of Edwin Hahn of Marshfield. He is a graduate of the McKinley High School of Marshfield and a member of the Hahn and Hahn Insurance company.

Mr. and Mrs. Hahn after a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin will return to Marshfield, where after July 8 they will be at home to friends at 612 W. Sixth St. The bride wore a suit of white linen for traveling.

Many nice wedding gifts were received among them a gift from the Boy Scouts of Marshfield of whom Mr. Hahn is Scout Master.

The Tribune joins with many other friends in extending best wishes to Mr. and Mrs. Hahn.
