Peter Walsdorf, one of the earliest settlers of this community, died of a lingering illness at the home of his brother, William Walsdorf, in Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), on Dec. 2, 1932, at the age of seventy-one years, five months and sixteen days.

The deceased was born June 16, 1861 at New Holstein, Wis. He moved into this community with his brother, William Walsdorf, in 1883, residing on a farm one mile south and two miles west of Thorp, for six years, and then moved into the village of thorp where he resided until his death.

Mr. Walsdorf’s health began to fail about a year and half ago when he started taking treatments for cancer at the Chippewa Falls Hospital and at Rochester, Minn.

He is survived by four brothers, William of Thorp, Nick of New Holstein, Joseph of Stanley, August of Thorp, and one sister, Mrs. Fred Fischer of Thorp.

Funeral services were held at the St. Bernard’s Catholic Church Monday morning at 9:30, Father Muckerheide officiating. Interment followed in the village cemetery.

The pallbearers were: Anton Micke, Nick Benzschawel, Alvin Truckey, John Verkuilen, Chas. Possley, and Fred Schmidt.
