Kuhl, Gust W. (28 June 1887 - 20 Jan. 1941)

Gust W. Kuhl, Loyal, Wis., formerly of Neillsville, died at 12:15 p.m. January 20, 1941, at St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield, after an illness of several months with a heart ailment.

Mr. Kuhl was born in the township of Weston, this county, June 28, 1887, to William and Bertha Kuhl. He remained a resident of Clark County throughout his lifetime.

On March 12, 1914, he was married to Miss Una Jacklin of his home township. They were the parents of three children: Waunita, Mrs. Mack Fradette, Neillsville; Marian and Darrel, at home. The family lived on a farm near the Fairview school in Weston Township.

On November 2, 1936, Mrs. Kuhl passed away. Mr. Kuhl and children continued to live on the farm for a time, later moving to Neillsville and for the past year and a half they had been living in the village of Loyal where he worked for Fred Lakosky until his health broke down last summer.

He is survived by his children, five brothers and three sisters, namely: Theodore, Emil and Frank, all of Neillsville; Herman, Eau Claire; William, Troy, Ohio; Mrs. Paul Hills, Loyal; Ida of Milwaukee, and Amanda.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 23, at 2 p.m. at the Evangelical and Reformed church, Neillsville, Rev. Wilson Bixler, officiating. Interment was made in the Neillsville Cemetery.

Kuhl, Gustave W. #2 (28 Jun 1887 - 20 Jan 1941)

Gustave W. Kuhl, a resident of this village since 1938, passed away at the St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, Wis., January 20. He had been ill with a heart ailment since October.

The deceased was born June 28, 1887, in Weston Township where he lived until 1937. While living in Weston, he served his district for a short time as a member of the school board. He resided in Neillsville for a year after leaving Weston, coming to Loyal from Neillsville.

He was united in marriage with Una Jackin during March, 1915, the ceremony taking place in Neillsville. Mrs. Kuhl passed away during 1936.

Three children survive. Mrs. Mack (Waunita) Fradette, Neillsville, Marian and Darrel at home. Brothers and sisters surviving are Herman of Eau Claire; Theodore and Emil, Town of Weston; Frank, Town of Pine Valley; Mrs. John Cronin, Janesville; Mrs. Ida Kuhl, Milwaukee; William Troy, Ohio; and Mrs. Paul Hills, Loyal.

Funeral services were held last Thursday afternoon in the Neillsville Reformed Church, of which he was a member, the Rev. Wilson Bixler officiating. Burial was in the Neillsville Cemetery.
