Beller, George (17 OCT 1864 - 12 DEC 1931)

George Beller, for many years a farmer resident in the town of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), passed away at his home at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12th, 1931, pneumonia, from which he had suffered for several days, being the cause. He was born in Germany on Oct. 17, 1864 and had thus reached the age of 67 years, 1 month and 17 days. At the age of twenty years he came to this country and arrived at Thorp on April 4th, 1884, where he had since made his home. On Nov. 4, 1889 he was united in marriage with Miss Elizabeth Gruber, who with five sons, George and Albert of Waukesha, John, Ellsworth, Edward and Anton, Thorp, and two daughters, Sister M. Rosaline of St. Francis, Wis., and Mrs. Clara Beckler of Ellsworth, survive. He was a man of excellent habits and moral character and one of nature’s noblemen in its truest sense.

The funeral services were held at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church on Tuesday morning, Father A.M. Muckerheide officiating. At the close of the services an unusual long procession followed the funeral car to the Catholic Cemetery where interment took place.
