August W. Lobach was born in Fond du Lac County April 4, 1850. With his parents he moved to the Chippewa bottom country settling near Caryville in Eau Claire County where they were engaged in farming. Following his teaching career he studied law and later had a practice of his own. In the middle eighties he moved to Salem, Ore., where he operated a small fruit ranch.

In 1928 he returned to Wisconsin having sold his ranch, and made his home in Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) with his nephew, R. Graham, who survives him, as does a niece, Miss hazel Graham of Stevens Point. Death came as a result of old age on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 1937. Mr. Lobach was 86 years old. One sister, Mrs. F.L. Graham, and brother, John Lobach, preceded him in death.
