Hansen, Fredrick (26 FEB 1864 - 18 DEC 1936)

Funeral services for Fredrick Hansen were held from the Griebenow-Weirich Funeral parlor at two o’clock Wednesday afternoon, Rev. J.H. Rostad officiated at the ceremony. Several appropriate musical numbers were played by Theresa Marking. Burial was made in the Riverside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Peter Westergaard, Peter Rieber, Hans Madsen, Viggo Rasmussen, Robert Madsen, and Louie Schield.

Fredrick Hansen was born Feb. 26, 1864, at Kerkeby Sjelland, Denmark. In 1890 he came to America and settled at Ashland, where he was employed as motorman on the street car system. On May 18, 1897, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Hansen. They remained in Ashland for ten years, after which they moved to a farm near Colby. In 1912 they moved to Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) where Mr. Hansen was employed by the John S. Owen Lumber Co.

Mr. Hansen took sick about two weeks ago, but it was not until the past week that his health failed and death overtook him Friday, Dec. 18, 1936, at the age of 72 years. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth and six children, Emil, and Mrs. Emil Backa of Owen; Walter D. of Omro; Wesley M. of Janesville; Mrs. M.E. Eggers of Pleasant Hope, Mo.; and …..(the rest of my copy was cut off - the article said it continued on page 6, but I do not have that portion)
