Matousek, Dorothy R (October 6, 1916 - December 27, 2006)

Dorothy R. Matousek, age 90, of Neillsville, formerly of Stanley, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at Memorial Hospital, in Sheboygan, WI.

Dorothy was born October 6, 1916 in Minneapolis, MN, and then moved as a young girl with her family to Canada where she grew up. She was united in marriage to Joseph Vizer in Jamestown, ND, residing there for four years, then moving to Boyd, WI where they farmed until 1960, then moved into Stanley. Joseph passed away and Dorothy was later married to Laddie Matousek and moved to Neillsville, where she resided since. During her years living in Stanley, Dorothy worked at the Stanley Luggage Factory, the Farmer’s Store, J.J. Long’s Store, and the Ben Franklin Store. She was also a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church at this time.

After moving to Neillsville she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and was known as "One of the Doll Ladies" restoring old dolls for needy children and also spent many hours doing volunteer work and helping the elderly. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, watching birds and collecting bird items and enjoyed being with people and was known as a very good hearted person.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Lorraine Matousek, of New Holstein, WI; Jeanette Vizer, of Coon Rapids, MN; Richard Vizer, of Neillsville; and Rodney (Cheri) Vizer, of Chippewa Falls; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Joseph Vizer and Laddie Matousek; and six brothers and sisters.

Funeral Services were held on Saturday Dec. 30 at the Plombon Funeral Chapel in Stanley. Pastor Linda Dutton officiated and burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Stanley.

Plombon Funeral Services assisted the family with arrangements.
