Anderson, Virginia (Marriage - 15 June 1940)

The marriage of Miss Virginia Anderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank L. Anderson, Hammond, Wis., and LeRoy Eastman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eastman of Lancaster, Wis., took place at four o’clock Saturday, June 15, in the Congregational church at River Falls, Wis. Only the immediate families attended.

The bride was gowned in dusty pink sheer crepe dress with lace trim and wore a large white hat with black velvet streamers. Her flowers were a lovely long shoulder bouquet of white gardenias.

The bridesmaid, Miss Doris Shella, of River Falls, wore a blue chiffon print and a large light colored hate with streamers. Her flowers were a shoulder bouquet of white carnations and white larkspur. The best man, George Cartwright, of Lancaster, is a nephew of the groom.

The bride’s mother wore a dawn grey chiffon print dress and a shoulder bouquet of pink roses and larkspur, with pink accessories. The groom’s mother wore rose pink crepe and a shoulder bouquet of pink roses and blue bachelor buttons.

The bride was given in marriage by her father, Frank L. Anderson, of Hammond. The church was decorated with red and white peonies and other garden flowers, ferns and candelabra. The wedding march was played by Harriet Campbell of River Falls.

After the ceremony the wedding party motored to St. Paul where a reception was given by the bride’s father for about fifty guests in the Spanish room of the Hotel Lowry. The tables were decorated in white flowers and candelabra.

Mrs. Eastman was born in Neillsville, Wis. When she was a small child her parents moved to River Falls, but through frequent visits and other contacts she kept in close touch with Neillsville friends who have watched her gown into charming, capable young womanhood. She was graduated from the River Falls high school and from the State teachers college of that city, fitting herself for the teaching profession.

Those attending the reception were friends and relatives of Lancaster, Hammond, River Falls, Hudson and Minneapolis. After the reception, Mr. and Mrs. Eastman left on a motor trip through Northern Wisconsin and Minnesota. They will be at home South Tylor Street, Lancaster, Wis., July 1.
