Marie Brehm

Marie Brehm, 92, Colby, died Friday, December 15, 2006, at Continental Manor in Abbotsford, Wis.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 21, 2006, at St. Mary’s Catholic, Church Colby. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Monsignor John Malik will preside. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2006, at Community Funeral Home, Colby. There will be a parish prayer service at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Maurina-Community Funeral Home is assisting the family.

She was born September 3, 1914, in the Town of Auburndale, Wood County, to Mike and Barbara (Schullhauser) Grassl.

Before she married, she worked in Marshfield and Evanston, IL.

Marie and Roland Brehm were married October 7, 1935 in Auburndale. She then became a farm wife for 42 years. Roland died in 1991.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and St. Regina’s Circle. Marie was an avid reader and greatly enjoyed time spent with her family. She also enjoyed birds, trees, gardening and flowers. We cherish her memory by appreciating God’s gift of nature.

Marie is survived by her children, Sister Jolynn Brehm of Woodruff, Edward (Marilyn) Brehm of Unity, Margaret (Mark) Radloff of Plymouth, Thomas (Linda) Brehm of Unity, Dennis (Karla) Brehm of Spencer and Gerard (Rachel) Brehm of Albany OR; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; her brother Matt (Betsey) Grassl of Auburndale and her sister, Agatha Carswell of Thermopolis, WY.

She was preced4ed in death by her parents; her husband Roland; an infant daughter, Barbara; two brothers, Richard and Edward Grassl; two sisters, Odelia Simon and Sister Anne Grassl.
